Mild Steel Flanges
Mild Steel Flanges are carbon steel flanges with low or mild carbon content. These flanges have high ductility, strength and a certain degree of corrosion resistance. The flanges of this grade are used with mild carbon steel pipes. The MS Pipe Flange can be produced with hot rolling, cold drawing, welded or fabricated methods. There are different types as well.
The Mild Steel Blank Flanges have no finishing on them apart from the oxide layer that forms on the surface of the material. These flanges are mostly used in oil and gas industries and in the petroleum industries. There are different types such as the Mild steel slip on flange which allows the pipe to go through the flange so that the location of connection could be adjusted.
These are usually used with seamless pipes because they are accurate in dimensions. The MS Welded flange is used in applications where the welding procedures are excessive. There are different grades and types such as the Mild steel t4 flange and others. There are various types such as screwed flanges, blind flanges, socket weld flanges, weld neck flanges, raised face and ring type joint flanges. These flanges are also used in chemical industries and in general plumping applications.

Due to low carbon contain this steel cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but it can be strengthened by addition of carbon in it. For cost cost effective purpose instead of stainless steel, mild steel is used.
